Design 111 Project Model
The joint. This is my favourite design project from last trimester because it gave me a chance to be really creative, and design something different. The project involved taking a joint of the body and abstracting its movements to create a diagram that traced these movements. I was given the knee, and from this I developed quite an unusual diagram, based on the photos I used for inspiration. Making a model of this was exciting, I used plaster, metal and wood, and I had fun making it! To reinforce the idea of the diagram, I drew this on to the surface of the plaster. I think that this model and drawing set was successful as there was a strong connection between the two.

A Process - Campus to Campus
I have used the idea of a journey as my process, from the school of design to the main campus in Kelburn. This is something I have to do most days.
Online Activity - A Review
I found that posting comments on other blogs within the 112 social network to be very beneficial. It was great to see what others thought of my work and which parts were the most successful, and also that other people could understand the ideas behind the project. Comments I placed on other blogs were always positive about the work, and I always commented on blogs which I saw that had a strong link to the theme of design and that this was evident in all of their posts. Examples of these comments can be seen on the student blogs which I researched in my inspiration post!

Inspiring a Real Life Network..

Design 112 Inspiration!
By looking through the design 112 class list I came across some amazing student blogs..these blogs appealed to me for many reasons. I posted comments on some of their pages and became a part of this online network!
- Jeannie's blog is a great example that tells us about herself. Her fluid form model is very interesting. It is clear from the start that her blog is about design!
- Chloe's blog is very interesting, it really describes who she is and what she is into. It is very creative, linked together thematically and well presented.
- Tenzin has created an exciting customised blog. It is easy to see at a glance what the blog is about. It is very well layed out and all posts are clearly related to the theme of design.

First ideas for VLOG...
A Process?
To link the Vlog to my previous posts, I could either describe the process of making my model, or maybe the drawing, so people can find out more about that specific project.
If i wanted to link it to my real life network I could film another time of journey, perhaps a journey that connects two specific places.

Real Life Network
My initial idea for a real life network was a journey from one point in Wellington to another. I decided to take my photos down cuba street because of the interesting range of buildings! To link this back to the ideas in my first post I thought about 'the joint'. After looking at this series of photos, I decided that there was nothing really connecting these buildings, and so I made an image that reinforced the idea of 'disjointed architecture'. So my blog is about connections and disconnections.

- Grijs is a beautiful website focused on European Design. It is all about hunting and gathering for beautiful things. It is a showcase of beautiful textures and the designs are clean, crisp and simple. There are some really random fashion posts and I think that these are great!
- Diversity. This blog contains an amazing range of artists and designers work, which shows the diversity of the design field. It incorporates all imaginable aspects of design, there are hundreds of posts to inspire any project!
- Design Milk is a very creative and diverse design site. It is full of links to some very interesting design projects, from illustration, to industrial design, and even jewellery!
- These sites are all very enthusiastic about design and I was drawn to them because of this. The ideas are exciting. The websites are all well designed and very visually appealing. These sites are the most apropriate for this project because of their design focus!
